LDP ON THE MOVE - flagbearer tours some Universities and Media houses in Accra.

The flagbearer of the Liberal Democratic Party, Mr. Job Kwabena Laboja, on the 29th of April 2022, toured the University of Ghana (UG), Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), TV3 (Media General) and Metro TV, to engage on the policies of the party and his ideologies in improving the standard of living of citizens.

His visit to these Institutions as part of the Flagbearer's activities, was triggered by familiarising with citizens and inquiring their welfare in times of these economic hardships and also to solicit their votes for the upcoming 2022 elections.

Whiles interacting with some students of the University of Ghana, who complained bitterly of accommodation being their paramount worry that affects them adversely, Janice Crabbe, a first year student of the University of Ghana said; “New students who gained admission to the university were frustrated during the beginning of the semester as many failed to secure accommodations due to the high charges of hostels. This led to many applicants withdrawing their interests for UG”.

These students pleaded with the flag bearer to help make accommodations affordable and accessible to ease the stress of every students in order to facilitate academic achievements.

Similarly, the plight of students from the Ghana Institute of Journalism were in accordance with that of the state of UG. Majority of the students lamented over distances they cover on the regular in order to make it to class.

As part of the party’s bid to lead and run an inclusive government, Job Kwabena Laboja accompanied by some party executives, visits the University of Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Journalism to listen to the pleas of students and make known his motive to steer Ghana to the win. The flagbearer also made stops at two of Ghana’s most authoritative and credible media organizations; Media General and Metro TV.

Other concerns raised by students also addressed the need for water as they often face water crises in their various hostels. Some of the issues included; the need for competent leadership, the abolishment of the E-Levy, the construction of new roads around campus, the need for a strategized educational system, the renovation of abandoned factories in the country to pave way for the creation of more jobs in the country to curb the higher level of unemployment rates.

In addition; Laboja shared the opinion that encouraging rich individuals in society and the country at large to extend the arms of assistance to the government in propelling the current state of the country from its lowest to a higher era of comfort and sustainability for every citizen, will amount Ghana good will in an environment of developed countries.

Job Kwabena Laboja, upon hearing the plea of students, promised that the policies of his party in line with his desire for change, will see to the fruition for a quality state of livelihood for all, to make sure their problems are solved when he is voted into power.
