Job Kwabena Laboja made this declaration during his first-ever public appearance in a 2 minutes 28 seconds video premiere on Social media on Monday, April 25, 2022, where the Party officially unveils him as the flag bearer.
The Liberal Democratic Party revealed its intention in taking Ghanaians to the ‘Promised Land’ when voted into office. A statement channeled at the introduction of their policies with full glee of the can-do spirit.
The video which featured the National Communications Director, Helen Amoah; Youth organizer, Esther Boadu and the National Chairman of the Party, Isaac Akpah, began with a display of the Ghana flag and continued with the LDP flag with the National patriotic song playing in the background, in the local dialect (Akan language) "Yen ara asase".
The National Communications Director, Helena Amoah then appeared in the video to give a vivid picture of the state of the ordinary Ghanaian under the Akufo-Addo – Bawumia lead governance.
"It is evident that our great Nation has become a debt-ridden country with our public debt stock currently standing at a WHOOPING GHȼ334 billion. This means each Ghanaian citizen owes over eleven thousand cedis".
She stressed.
The strategically planned unveiling of the flag bearer continued in the video with the National Youth Organizer of the party, Esther Boadu raising concerns about the state of youth unemployment, Industrial unrest and the ever-increasing high cost of living in the country.
She further noted that;
"Without an iota of doubt, we live in these conditions as a result of some poor decisions made by successive governments".
The National Chairman of LDP, Isaac Akpah attributed the challenges of Ghanaians today to failed leadership.
He stressed that,
"Our Dear nation is in a leadership crisis and for that matter, Ghanaians are crying out for leadership that truly understands the needs of the citizenry".
For the above reasons, Mr Akpah introduced Job Kwabena Laboja as the alternative;
"The panacea to all our hardships", he asserted.
Flag Bearer, Job Kwabena Laboja surfaced in the video seated in his office with a burning flame in front of him; (the flame representing the Party’s symbol). And on his right, stood the Ghana flag.
Mr. Laboja then outlined the beliefs of his party, intimating that, “as social liberals, the believe that government must take an active role in promoting the freedom of citizens and that real freedom can only exist when citizens are healthy, educated and free from dire poverty".
He then concluded by saying that the LDP is,
"POISED FOR ACTION; Action to take this country to the ‘Promised Land’".
The Party revealed that the unveiling of the flag bearer in a video was necessitated in order to get everyone on board due to the changing times as well as purported at engaging the Party members to develop the habit of the use for New Media.
"It is the first of its kind in the history of this country. Technology has advanced and therefore we must explore; the LDP did exactly that and hoped others humbly learn from it".
The Party’s Coordinator, Alberta Akoto-Bampo stated.
